My Creative Journey

I was born on November 1, 1996, in the vibrant city of Gujar Khan in Punjab, Pakistan. As a child, I was always fascinated by the idea of flying. My dream was to become a pilot, soaring through the skies and exploring the world from above. However, my parents envisioned a different future for me. They wanted me to pursue a career in medicine and become a doctor. The thought of becoming a doctor never resonated with me; it felt too rigid and disconnected from the creativity I craved. Despite the conflict, I respected their wishes and continued to explore my interests.

Growing up, my best friend Rameen and I were inseparable. We shared countless memories, from school projects to late-night study sessions. She was my confidante and partner in all our adventures. During my school years, I faced a significant setback when personal and family matters caused me to miss an academic year. It was a challenging time, filled with uncertainty and frustration. Yet, it was also a period of growth, teaching me resilience and the importance of perseverance.

University was a turning point in my life. It was there that I first heard about graphic design and freelancing. The idea of expressing myself through visuals and helping others communicate their ideas intrigued me. I began exploring various design software and techniques, immersing myself in online tutorials and courses. This newfound passion for design felt like a breath of fresh air, a departure from the conventional path I had been expected to follow. I enrolled in a virtual university in Pakistan, where I studied design and honed my skills. Graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (BCSC) with courses in graphic design was a proud moment, marking the beginning of my professional journey in the creative industry.

My career began with an internship at a local company in Gujar Khan. This was my first experience in a professional setting, and it was invaluable. I learned about the practical aspects of graphic design, from creating promotional materials to managing social media content. It was a steep learning curve, but it solidified my desire to continue in this field.

In January 2018, I ventured into freelancing onFiverr. For nearly three years, until September 2020, I worked with clients from around the world, designing logos, branding materials, and digital assets. Freelancing taught me a great deal about client communication, project management, and the importance of creativity. It was a period of immense growth, both professionally and personally, as I navigated the challenges of being a self-employed designer.

In January 2022, I joinedE-Tech Marketing Limited in Islamabad, where I worked until December 2022. This role provided stability and the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment. I started as a junior designer and worked my way up to a senior position within the year. I worked on a variety of projects, from digital marketing campaigns to website design, and also had the opportunity to train new internees. It was a rewarding experience that allowed me to deepen my expertise and expand my portfolio.

The following year, I balanced two roles: one withGlobal Business Group in Canada from February to August, and another withBioICAW Tech in Rawalpindi from January to July 2023. At Global Business Group, I had the chance to work on international projects, adapting designs for different cultural contexts and markets. This experience broadened my understanding of global design trends and client expectations. Simultaneously, my role at BioICAW Tech involved working on innovative tech-driven projects, which kept me on my toes and excited about the future of design.

My journey continued with a brief stint atFunprime in Islamabad from September to November 2023, where I focused on entertainment-related design projects. Concurrently, I worked withDeepware.de in Germany from April to December 2023, a role that allowed me to delve into advanced design technologies and methodologies. Working remotely with international teams was a unique challenge, but it was incredibly rewarding.

In June 2023, I began working withNixxie International, a company based in Dubai. Initially, I collaborated with them as a freelancer, taking on projects that pushed the boundaries of my creativity. By December 2023, I made a life-changing decision—I moved to Dubai. This move marked the beginning of a new chapter in my life. Joining Nixxie International as a regular designer allowed me to immerse myself fully in my passion for design. I now work on a diverse range of projects, from corporate branding to digital experiences, constantly challenging myself and growing as a designer.

Each step of my journey has been a learning experience, shaping me into the creative professional I am today. From my initial dreams of flying to finding my place in the world of graphic design, it's been a journey of discovery, growth, and fulfillment. I've learned that true success lies in pursuing what you love, even if it means taking risks and forging your own path. I'm excited to continue this journey, exploring new creative avenues and making a positive impact through my work.
